The 1940's Radio Hour-Final Dress Rehearsal

Swinging sounds of big band music and hilarious backstage antics in The 1940s Radio Hour. This incredible show was directed by our Artistic Director James Blackmon. The world may be locked in the titanic struggle of the Second World War, but inside the studio of the WOV radio station, the show must go on! Their weekly broadcast of The Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade lifts the spirits of our boys overseas and the families they left behind. The radio program is seen through the eyes of the theatre audience who become the actual 1940s radio station audience. This fun production included old-time greats such as “Blue Moon,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Old Black Magic,” “Ain’t She Sweet,” “Kalamazoo,” and 18 other numbers from that era.
